Types of membership
The Association of Black Social Workers offers a space for knowledge sharing, networking, professional development and employment opportunities. Each type of membership is described below and additional information can be found on the membership form.
ABSW Membership Form
Membership Types
View each type of membership that we have at ABSW.
Registered Social Workers who complete an application, pay the membership fee and obtain approval by the members.
Regular Member
Membership
Those who do not have a social work degree yet work in the social services field and have completed an application, paid the membership fee and obtained approval by the members.
Associate Member
Membership
Students registered in a school of social work, social workers and social service workers who are unemployed and those who have retired from the Social Service field can become members of ABSW providing they complete an application, pay the required membership fee and obtain approval from the members.
Student/Unemployed/Retired
Membership
These individuals live in NS or other parts of the country but wish to stay connected to the activities of ABSW. There is not a corresponding membership fee but your name would go on our email list.
